KICH Hypnotherapy Training In Kent

Up to eight million people in the UK suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome, this is often a debilitating and intrusive condition that often leaves the sufferer feeling helpless and over whelmed.

Those of us in the field of Hypnotherapy have long understood the mind body connection when it comes to IBS and the fact that stress can be a strong factor. We are used to seeing benefits for clients with IBS after a course of hypnotherapy.

Most recently, 250 patients who have suffered from IBS for over two years were given twelve one-hour sessions, during which they were given an explanation of how the gut works and what causes their symptoms.
Peter Whorwell said that when using hypnotherapy ‘the sufferers learn how to influence and gain control of their gut function, and then seem to be able to change the way the brain modulates their gut activity’.
With a treatment success rate of about 70% this could be a very effective treatment and offer a financial saving area for the NHS a less expensive option to new drugs coming onto the market.
I had a very interesting time listening to the findings of Professor Whorwell, his research and findings in my opinion leave no doubt now that the medical profession should consider hypnotherapy for this condition in their treatment options.
